As part of efforts to learn from global best practices in urban development, a delegation visited London to study the city’s planning strategies, transportation systems, and heritage-led regeneration projects.
During the visit, the delegation met Gwyn Richards, Director of Planning and Development at the City of London Corporation, who provided an in-depth briefing on London’s master plan, development strategies, and transportation networks, illustrated through a detailed miniature city model that showcased the city’s long-term planning vision.
The delegation also observed the transformation of the historic Battersea Power Station into a vibrant mixed-use and tourism destination, demonstrating how heritage assets can be preserved while being seamlessly integrated into modern urban development.
The delegation included Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Department – Suresh Kumar S. Nair, and Managing Director, Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation – Srinivas.
