India’s First Quantum Ecosystem Takes Shape in Amaravati

On 7 February, the foundation stone–laying ceremony of India’s first Quantum Ecosystem, Amaravati Quantum Valley, was held, marking a significant milestone in India’s deep-tech and innovation journey.

The foundation stone was laid by Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Minister for Science & Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh, reflecting a strong commitment to positioning Andhra Pradesh as a global hub for quantum technology and advanced research.

The initiative encompasses the development of Quantum Valley Towers across 50 acres at Uddandarayunipalem, Amaravati and the establishment of India’s first 133-qubit Quantum Computer Center. This landmark project is being realised through a strategic partnership between the Government of Andhra Pradesh and leading industry players IBM, TCS and L&T.

The ceremony was attended by Union Minister Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister Shri Nara Lokesh, Minister Shri Kandula Durgesh, senior representatives from IBM, TCS, and L&T and esteemed faculty members from IIT Tirupati and IIT Madras.

Amaravati Quantum Valley represents more than an infrastructure initiative; it is a forward-looking vision aimed at fostering quantum computing, cutting-edge research, startup ecosystems and global collaboration, reinforcing Amaravati’s role in shaping India’s technology-driven future.
