During a recent inspection of the ongoing canal modernization works in Nellore City, a strong commitment was made to transform the city into a vibrant ‘Green City’ by June 12. The inspection focused on key projects including the modernization of Venkanna Canal, Ellika Canal, Ramireddy Canal and Revulapati Canal, ensuring that water management and urban infrastructure are upgraded to meet modern standards.
As part of the Green City initiative, an ambitious afforestation plan is underway. A tree will be planted every five meters across the city, with a target of 50,000 new trees, bringing greenery and a healthier environment to neighborhoods throughout Nellore.
Public safety is also a priority. 1,300 CCTV cameras are being installed across the city, placing Nellore under comprehensive surveillance and enhancing security for all residents.
In addition, every household will benefit from access to clean drinking water, and the construction of an underground drainage system is being completed citywide. Each promise made to the people is being fulfilled, reflecting a vision of sustainable, modern, and safe urban living in Nellore.
