Construction works of the MLA and MLC quarters in Amaravati were recently inspected as development activities in the capital city continue at a fast pace. The large-scale infrastructure works underway in Amaravati are attracting attention not only within Andhra Pradesh but also from neighboring states.
Amaravati was envisioned as a people’s capital, made possible through the support and contribution of farmers. Under the land pooling scheme, a total of 30,753 farmers voluntarily contributed 35,017 acres of land for the development of the capital city.
As part of the rehabilitation and returnable plots process, plots corresponding to 34,525 acres have already been allotted to the farmers through a transparent lottery system. At present, allotments remain pending for only 674 farmers, and the process for the remaining beneficiaries is also being addressed.
Despite the significant progress made, certain political groups continue to spread misinformation claiming that farmers who contributed land were not allotted plots. However, the facts clearly show that the vast majority of land contributors have already received their allotted plots through the established system.
Meanwhile, construction of key government infrastructure, including the MLA and MLC quarters, is progressing steadily. Officials stated that all the buildings currently under construction will soon be completed and handed over to the General Administration Department (GAD).
