Amaravati Capital Region Infrastructure Works Progressing Steadily

Amaravati Capital Region continues to witness steady progress in key infrastructure works, with rapid advancement in bridge construction across Kondaveeti Vagu and Palavagu.

Officials informed that construction of 69 bridges across the two waterways is progressing at a fast pace. Necessary engineering measures are being taken to ensure uninterrupted water flow during the monsoon season and to prevent water stagnation in surrounding areas.

It was noted that the Union Cabinet has approved the construction of Central Government office complexes in Amaravati, marking a significant milestone in the development of the capital region. At the same time, it was observed that certain sections are circulating misleading claims regarding construction costs.

Available project data indicates that while the Central Government Residential Complex is being constructed at ₹3,945 per sq. ft., Amaravati’s HappyNest housing project is being developed at ₹3,393 per sq. ft., and residential buildings for Gazetted Officers at ₹3,684 per sq. ft.

Officials explained that many of the structures under development are designed as iconic buildings, and therefore variations in cost are natural in large-scale infrastructure projects. Comparable trends have been observed in several major public infrastructure developments across the country.

Overall, the Amaravati capital works are being executed with a long-term vision to develop a modern, sustainable and globally competitive city.
