During a visit to Narsapuram in West Godavari district, the local MLA and officials accompanied the inspection of roads and drainage systems across the town. A review meeting was later conducted at the Municipal Office to assess the status of infrastructure works and outline future development plans.
The Minister stated that the Hon’ble Chief Minister had issued clear directions to ensure that all essential infrastructure facilities, including roads, drainage systems, parks, and drinking water arrangements, were completed before the Pushkaram festival. Following these directions, officials were instructed to undertake field-level assessments and prepare an effective action plan for timely completion of the works.
It was informed that ₹34 crore had been allocated under the Urban Challenge Fund, along with an additional ₹16 crore sanctioned by the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the projects proposed under these funds were being prepared, and the works would commence after obtaining the required approvals from the Centre.
The Minister further stated that drinking water projects worth ₹125 crore were being taken up under AMRUT 2.0. In addition, two Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) were being constructed with Pollution Control Board funds to establish sustainable and long-term infrastructure facilities for Narsapuram.
