Minister Ponguru Narayana inspected the Donthali dumping yard in Nellore and reviewed the ongoing works at the waste-processing plant. He directed the concerned agencies to complete the Jindal Waste-to-Energy plant within 18 months, with the facility aimed at processing waste and converting it into electricity.
Under the Minister’s supervision, efforts to clear legacy waste are being accelerated. Of the 153 lakh tonnes of legacy waste accumulated across the state, 143 lakh tonnes has already been cleared, with the remaining waste being taken up on priority.
Across Andhra Pradesh, work is progressing on 107 waste-processing plants, while approval has been given for six additional Waste-to-Energy plants. Once operational, the Donthali facility will process waste generated within a 100-km radius and convert it into electricity, supporting the broader objective of transforming waste into a resource and building a cleaner and healthier Andhra Pradesh.
