In line with the commitment of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to inclusive and balanced development, infrastructure works valued at over ₹43 crores are being undertaken across the capital villages. These initiatives aim to ensure that the development of Amaravati as the state capital progresses in parallel with the comprehensive development of the villages that form its foundation.
Community Engagement Through Gram Sabhas
To review the progress of ongoing works and strengthen community participation, Gram Sabhas were conducted in Thullur, Borupalem, Abbarajupalem, and Rayapudi. The meetings were held in the presence of MLA, Tenali, Sravan Kumar and provided a platform for direct interaction with residents and local stakeholders.
Special focus was placed on engaging with farmers who contributed their land for the capital. Their feedback remains central to the planning and implementation process, ensuring that development is equitable, responsive, and inclusive. Based on these consultations, infrastructure in capital villages is being planned and executed on par with the standards adopted for Amaravati city.
Major Infrastructure Works and Financial Allocations
The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has prepared Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for key infrastructure works, including cement concrete roads, drainage systems, and street lighting. The approved financial allocations under this phase are:
- ₹13.75 crores for Borupalem
- ₹7.9 crores for Abbarajupalem
- ₹22.12 crores for Rayapudi
These works are expected to significantly improve connectivity, sanitation, and public safety across the capital villages.
Progress on Cultural and Memorial Projects
Alongside infrastructure development, progress is also being made on important cultural and memorial initiatives. Construction has commenced at the Amarajeevi Sri Potti Sriramulu Memorial Park near Pedaparimi. In parallel, steps are being taken to issue land acquisition notifications for 400 acres of land currently affecting road construction works in the capital area.
A Holistic Vision for Amaravati
These initiatives reaffirm the belief that the success of Amaravati lies not only in the creation of iconic urban infrastructure but also in the sustained development and well-being of the surrounding villages. The integrated approach reflects a long-term vision of shared growth and inclusive capital development.
The leadership acknowledged the active participation and valuable contributions of MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, CRDA Commissioner Kannababu, local leaders, officials, and residents in advancing these initiatives.
