The V.R.C. Grounds in Nellore witnessed a sea of students and parents as thousands gathered for a landmark event that celebrated education and community service. The venue came alive with a festive atmosphere as 7,000 government school students were presented with free bicycles.
The initiative, fully funded by Minister Ponguru Narayana and his family through their personal resources, marked a historic milestone. It is recognized as one of the largest single-venue bicycle distribution drives for government school students in India, reflecting the family’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young learners.
Public representatives lauded the Narayana family’s philanthropic vision, describing the initiative as an inspiring example of social responsibility that will help improve access to education for thousands of underprivileged students.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Mayor Sravanthi Sujatha, NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, State Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz, District Collector Himanshu Shukla, Ponguru Ramadevi, Ponguru Sindhura, Ponguru Sharani, along with elected representatives, government officials, teachers, parents and thousands of students.
