During a two-day official visit to Malaysia, a delegation arrived in Kuala Lumpur and held a meeting with officials at the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, to discuss the objectives of the study tour and coordinate engagements with key institutions.
As part of the visit, the delegation studied the operations of KDEB Waste Management Sdn Bhd in Selangor. The focus of the study was on advanced solid waste management systems, including waste collection, segregation, recycling, technology integration and public participation mechanisms that support an efficient and sustainable urban waste management model.
The delegation also visited biomedical, industrial and poultry waste management facilities, along with the Senviron industrial waste management plant operated by Senviron. These facilities were observed for their advanced treatment technologies, environmental protection measures, and energy recovery systems designed for the safe and sustainable management of hazardous and industrial waste.
The visit provided an opportunity to study globally recognized best practices in solid waste management being implemented in Malaysia. The insights gained are being examined for possible adaptation and implementation in Andhra Pradesh, in line with local conditions and requirements. The overall objective remains the development of a clean, green and sustainable Andhra Pradesh.
