A review meeting was held with officials of the Swachh Andhra Corporation and Municipal Commissioners from across the state to assess the progress of solid waste management initiatives and advance the government’s vision of creating dumping yard-free municipalities.
The government is committed to transforming every municipality in the state into a dumping yard-free urban local body through scientific and sustainable waste management practices.
During the meeting, officials were directed to ensure that all solid waste generated each day is collected, transported, and scientifically processed on the same day to prevent waste accumulation and improve urban sanitation.
Emphasis was also placed on expediting the establishment of fresh waste processing plants by accelerating land acquisition, infrastructure development, and the provision of power connectivity. Additionally, officials were instructed to fast-track the procurement of waste collection and transportation vehicles to strengthen municipal waste management systems.
By implementing these long-term measures and enhancing waste processing infrastructure, the government aims to achieve a permanent and sustainable solution for solid waste management while making every municipality in the state free from dumping yards.
