The V.R.C. Grounds in Nellore witnessed a landmark education and community welfare initiative, with thousands of students and parents gathering for the distribution of free bicycles to 7,000 government school students. The initiative, fully funded by Municipal Administration Minister Shri Ponguru Narayana and his family through personal resources, reflects a commitment to supporting education and empowering young learners.
Recognised as one of the largest single-venue bicycle distribution drives for government school students in India, the initiative aims to improve access to education and support students from economically weaker sections. The programme reflects Shri Ponguru Narayana’s vision of creating better educational opportunities for young learners and strengthening support for government school students.
The event was attended by Member of Parliament Shri Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy, Nellore Rural MLA Shri Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, Mayor Smt. Sravanthi Sujatha, NUDA Chairman Shri Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, State Waqf Board Chairman Shri Abdul Aziz, District Collector Shri Himanshu Shukla, Smt. Ponguru Ramadevi, Smt. Ponguru Sindhura, Smt. Ponguru Sharani, along with elected representatives, government officials, teachers, parents and thousands of students.
