During a field visit to Amalapuram, a review was conducted of several ongoing and proposed development initiatives aimed at improving urban infrastructure and public amenities across the municipality.
At the Housing Board Colony, the Children’s Park was inspected, and officials were directed to take immediate steps for the release of ₹50 lakh towards its development and modernization. The project is expected to enhance recreational facilities and provide a better public space for residents.
As part of the Operation Clean Sweep initiative, the ongoing desilting works of the floodwater drainage canal were reviewed. A foundation stone was also laid for the construction of a CC road from Nalla Vantena (Black Bridge) to Erra Vantena (Red Bridge), a project estimated to cost ₹2 crore and aimed at improving local connectivity and infrastructure.
It was noted that while approval had been obtained for ₹5,350 crore in funding from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the funds had not yet been released due to the State Government’s inability to provide its share of the required contribution.
The visit also highlighted plans under a new urban development initiative that seeks to upgrade the town’s road network through end-to-end road development. The proposed works are expected to contribute significantly to the overall growth and modernization of Amalapuram Municipality, reinforcing efforts to improve civic infrastructure and public services.Amalapuram Set for Transformation with New Roads, Civic Works, and Public Infrastructure Investments
