The Bogapuram International Airport is scheduled to be inaugurated on August 1 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The landmark project is expected to significantly enhance air connectivity, accelerate regional development, and strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as a key investment destination.
With nearly 300,000 people expected to attend the inaugural event, comprehensive arrangements are being made to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme. Extensive planning is underway to manage logistics, public convenience, and security.
As part of the preparations, leaders are touring constituencies across North Andhra, engaging with local representatives and residents to encourage public participation and ensure the region is fully prepared for this historic occasion.
Alongside the airport project, development works in Vizianagaram are progressing steadily. Road and drainage infrastructure projects worth ₹21 crore have already been taken up, while efforts are underway to secure an additional ₹20 crore to further strengthen civic infrastructure and improve public amenities.
The foundation for the Bogapuram International Airport was laid through the dedicated efforts of former Union Minister Shri Ashok Gajapathi Raju. After facing delays due to the previous government’s inaction, the coalition government expedited the construction and successfully brought the project to completion, paving the way for a major milestone in the development of North Andhra.
