DRC Meeting Reviews Irrigation, Agriculture and MSME Development in Nellore

Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana participated in the Nellore District Review Committee (DRC) meeting chaired by Minister N. M. D. Farooq, along with Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and other public representatives. The meeting reviewed key issues related to irrigation, agriculture, and industrial development in the district.

During the meeting, Minister Ponguru Narayana stressed the importance of monsoon preparedness and reviewed the water storage position in the Kandaleru and Somasila reservoirs. He directed officials to expedite the repair and maintenance of major irrigation canals on a war footing to ensure uninterrupted water supply for agricultural needs.

The meeting was informed that the limit of urea supplied to farmers through the mobile application system had been enhanced from two bags to three bags, providing additional support to the farming community during the cultivation season.

Addressing the concerns of tobacco farmers, the DRC resolved to nominate a representative from the district to take their issues directly to the Tobacco Board, enabling quicker and more effective resolution of their grievances.

Focusing on industrial growth, Minister Ponguru Narayana directed officials to complete the Nellore Flatted MSME Park within the next ten days and make it ready for inauguration, following the successful model of the MSME Park established in Atmakur. The initiative is expected to promote entrepreneurship, strengthen the MSME sector and generate new employment opportunities in the district.
