On October 2, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted inspections in various areas of Machilipatnam as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva program. Minister Ponguru Narayana has already reviewed the locations to be visited by the Chief Minister, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place for the program’s success.
In a related event on Gandhi Jayanti, Minister Narayana joined CM Naidu in emphasizing the government’s dedication to cleanliness and effective waste management. During the event, he announced the cancellation of the waste tax imposed by the previous YSRCP government, highlighting the current administration’s commitment to fulfilling election promises. Minister Narayana indicated that formal approval for these measures will be sought in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
Additionally, Minister Narayana inspected the waste-to-energy plant located near the Kapuluppada dumping yard in Visakhapatnam, advising representatives from the Jindal Group to incorporate advanced technologies for more efficient electricity generation from waste. The Visakhapatnam plant has a capacity of 1,500 tonnes and was highlighted as the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh, with plans for additional plants in other locations .This visit marked Narayana’s first inspection of the Visakhapatnam facilities since assuming ministerial duties.
