Ending Years of Traffic Congestion in Nellore

Ending years of delays, the Atmakur Bus Stand Flyover has been restored and opened to the public in just 45 days, bringing significant relief to residents and commuters in Nellore. The reopening of this vital junction effectively addresses the long-standing issue of traffic congestion in the area.

The foundation for the flyover was laid by Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu in 1995, but the project had remained stalled for years due to security and other constraints. The pending repairs have now been completed on priority, ensuring smoother traffic flow and improved connectivity for thousands of daily commuters.

During the 2017 Nellore floods, Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu personally stayed in the city to assess the situation. Building on that vision, ongoing efforts include the modernization of canals and the strengthening of flood-prevention measures, contributing to a safer, modern, and more resilient Nellore.

This initiative aligns with the broader objective of transforming Nellore into a modern, smart city, focused on sustainable, efficient, and citizen-friendly urban development.
