Government Accelerates ELUDA Development, Allocates ₹57 Crore for Municipal Infrastructure

A review meeting on ongoing development works and future initiatives under the Eluru Urban Development Authority (ELUDA) was held at the Eluru Municipal Corporation office. The meeting focused on accelerating infrastructure projects and planning future urban development across the ELUDA region.

As part of the government’s efforts to strengthen civic infrastructure, ₹57 crore has been allocated for development works in municipalities under the ELUDA jurisdiction. During the visit, the 35-acre residential layout developed at Shanivarapeta was also inspected to review its progress and implementation.

The government is developing layouts through Urban Development Authorities to generate sustainable revenue while promoting planned urban growth. Additionally, drinking water supply and drainage projects worth ₹18,000 crore are being implemented across the state, with the objective of ensuring access to safe drinking water for every household within the next two years.

The government also highlighted its commitment to addressing pending housing issues. It noted that after the coalition government assumed office, 1 lakh TIDCO houses have been handed over to eligible beneficiaries, while reaffirming its focus on improving urban infrastructure and public welfare across the state.
