The foundation stone has been laid for the LV Prasad Eye Institute campus at Abbarajupalem in Tulluru Mandal, Amaravati, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu laying the foundation stone. Minister Ponguru Narayana welcomed this significant initiative towards strengthening Amaravati’s healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to advanced eye care services.
Spread across 12 acres, the campus is expected to provide eye care services to nearly 3 lakh people every year. In collaboration with LV Prasad Eye Institute, the project will focus on advanced eye care, medical research and specialised training, further contributing to Amaravati’s development as a centre for healthcare, education and research.
The first phase is expected to commence services through a Tertiary Eye Care Centre in 2027. The campus will subsequently be developed in phases with facilities for Vision Rehabilitation, Elderly Eye Care, Child Sight, Eye & Brain, Education Academy, Research and Community Eye Health, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for eye care, research and training.
