The book introduction programme for Venkaiah Nayakudu was held at the VPR Convention in Nellore, bringing together dignitaries and attendees to celebrate the life and contributions of former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu.
Speaking at the event, it was noted that M. Venkaiah Naidu served twice as a Union Minister, leading several key ministries and introducing important reforms. Drawing on his extensive parliamentary experience, he also played a significant role in facilitating the passage of several important bills in the Rajya Sabha.
His contributions to urban development and sanitation were also highlighted. He was credited with launching the AMRUT 1.0 scheme and taking the Swachh Bharat Mission to people across the country. Inspired by the same vision, the state government is working through AMRUT 2.0 to provide every household in Andhra Pradesh with a drinking water tap connection within the next two years.
The programme also recalled M. Venkaiah Naidu’s support for Andhra Pradesh, including the allocation of 7 lakh TIDCO houses to the state following a request from the state leadership. His initiatives for Nellore’s development, including the preparation of the “Naa Nellore Kosam” development document and the launch of the “Nellore Nest” programme, were highlighted as key milestones.
Describing M. Venkaiah Naidu’s discipline, commitment, and dedication to national service as a lasting source of inspiration, it was emphasized that the same ideals continue to guide efforts towards the development of Nellore. Attendees were encouraged to read his biography to better understand his life, leadership and contribution to public service.
