A review was conducted on the progress of the Fresh Waste Processing Plants being established across municipalities in the state. The initiative is aimed at strengthening scientific waste management systems and improving urban sanitation standards through efficient processing of municipal solid waste.
To effectively manage the solid waste generated every day, the government is setting up Fresh Waste Processing Plants in all 107 municipalities across the state. These facilities are being developed to ensure that municipal waste is processed in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner, reducing the burden on dumping yards and promoting cleaner urban environments.
During the review, Municipal Commissioners were directed to expedite the establishment of these plants by ensuring the immediate availability of essential infrastructure, including land, electricity, water supply, and road connectivity. Timely completion of these supporting facilities is critical for the successful commissioning of the plants.
Officials were also instructed to complete all pending works related to the Fresh Waste Processing Plants by the end of June and initiate waste processing operations without delay. The government remains committed to creating a modern, efficient, and sustainable waste management ecosystem that contributes to cleaner, healthier and more livable cities across the state.
