A significant step towards creating better public spaces in Nellore has been taken with the transformation of the long-unused Rebala Children’s Hospital site in the 8th Division into a vibrant public park. Developed with an investment of ₹1.4 crore, the facility includes an AC Community Hall and AC Gym, providing residents with improved spaces for recreation, fitness and community activities. The initiative also gives shape to a request made by a young boy during the election campaign, reflecting the importance of listening to people’s needs and turning genuine aspirations into meaningful development.
The wider focus is on strengthening parks and green spaces across Nellore City. Development works have been taken up for 46 parks, with 35 already opened for public use. In line with the vision of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, 12,500 saplings have been planted in the first phase, with another 12,000 saplings planned in the second phase. Together, these efforts are aimed at creating greener neighbourhoods, improving public amenities and providing residents with better spaces to spend time, stay active and connect with their communities.
